University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) goes live with 42 rooms
The University of Alabama began performing surgery today in its new $275 million North Pavilion. Image Stream Medical's video management solution acts as the nerve center for this 12-story, 850,000-square-foot facility including 42 procedure rooms. The ISM solution supports video capture, archival, routing and distribution. This expansive project utilizes touchscreen monitors in every room that allow OR staff to select any available video source (including PACS images) and route the source to any of four ceiling mounted display monitors. The system supports real-time video conferencing from a procedure room to locations worldwide and also includes a state of the art conference room facility that can view live video from any procedure room.
